Hush Puppies and Skechers are two of my favourite shoe brands. Have you heard of them?
I shop for footwear at both stores, and jumping ahead, I’ll make the following conclusion: if I need classic casual shoes, I turn to Hush Puppies. They offer fashionable, comfortable shoes that are also truly beautiful and high quality.
But if I want variety and to add some brightness, a bit of extravagance, novelty, style, and unusual designs to my look, then as you’ve guessed, I turn to Skechers.
Here’s the thing about Hush Puppies – they’re like your favourite leather jacket that will never go out of style: suitable for many looks and lasts for years.
They make “always relevant” style shoes, crafted from quality materials. The design is simple, yet at the same time, the shoes look dignified, interesting, and “rich.” Most importantly, their footwear is very comfortable, generally like home slippers: soft and cozy.
Personally, I choose neutral colors (beige, brown, caramel) that could match any of my office or casual looks. Some of my models from their brand are suitable for both trousers and dresses. In short, a versatile option!
Let’s move on to Skechers. It’s like your favourite leather jacket but in a new version, for example, adorned with lots of rhinestones, sparkles, or perhaps a belt. With each new collection, Skechers strives to invent something new, fresh, and unusual.
I think it’s a great option for the youth to experiment and try something new. For older people, it’s a fantastic choice for various festive events, bright looks, and a change of style.
Both brands offer very comfortable footwear. I didn’t even need to break in my Hush Puppies shoes; they seem to be designed specifically for my feet.
Skechers also fit my feet perfectly, although I recall a minor issue with one pair, but it was my fault for not specifying and ordering a model for a narrow foot.
So, in both cases, choose shoes that fit your specific foot shape.
As with many shoe stores, the price depends on the chosen model (material, size, year of manufacture). Hush Puppies are usually mid-priced; for around $60, you can get a decent pair of shoes, but there are more expensive models if you’re interested in something special.
Skechers’ prices range from “wow, how cheap!” to “well, this is for special occasions.” They often have promotions and discounts, so you can snag a deal (but usually, these are limited edition models or the last pairs in unpopular sizes).
Of course, if we’re talking about the variety of models, Skechers is the clear favourite. They have so much variety that it’s overwhelming. But Hush Puppies aren’t far behind; they also offer a good selection, plus some cool accessories.
Hush Puppies shoes stand for comfort, convenience, and durability. Skechers shoes represent fashion, style, and novelty. What’s more important to you – proven quality or fashionable style?
So, What Are These Brands?
Hush Puppies has been making shoes for about 60 years, and in my opinion, they excel at it: the footwear is high-quality, comfortable, and tasteful. I wear their loafers, sandals, and sneakers. My Hush Puppies loafers still look like new, although I’ve been wearing them for ages.
Now, about Skechers. I wear their sneakers everywhere, my feet don’t get tired, and they look very neat on the foot, even slimming down my not-so-small foot size. They always keep up with fashion and add various cool and interesting features to make the shoes even more comfortable, stylish, and cozy. Beautiful and comfortable!
So, if you need reliability, style, and quality, I recommend choosing Hush Puppies. Skechers shoes are excellent quality too, and if you want to stay on trend and are not afraid to experiment with your look, then this brand is for you. Their sneakers, sandals, everyday shoes – all are for active and stylish people.

I’ll repeat, the quality at Hush Puppies is top-notch. Flexible, bouncy soles; soft yet durable leather! You can machine wash them (following all the guidelines), they’re easy to clean, and they use quality shoe hardware.
At Skechers, quality depends on the model. For example, I’ve been running in their sneakers for the 4th year. They’re very comfortable and perfectly fit my wide feet. The toe area has worn out a bit, but they’re well-made and still intact. I love them.
I assume I’ll continue running in them, even if they wear out. However, their sandals broke after about 3 months, luckily I managed to wear them through the summer season.
Hush Puppies shoes are not the cheapest, but they’re not exorbitant either—starting at $70 and up. But you’re paying for quality and the assurance that they will last a long time. Sometimes you can buy them at half price during a sale, and then you’re hitting the jackpot.
At Skechers, you can buy basic models for $50-70, but sports sneakers may cost around $150. However, they often have discounts and promotions, so you can find something affordable. For instance, I managed to buy my sneakers for $52.
Variety: Hush Puppies stick to their classic models, but they also have new arrivals. Chukkas, Oxfords, moccasins—you can find these in various materials, even in waterproof suede. They also have Heels and Wedges in their assortment.
Skechers, on the other hand, has a bit of everything: for everyday wear, for sports, children’s shoes, as well as clothing and accessories. Boots, slip-ons, flats, lace-ups, wedges, boat shoes, sports sneakers with the latest cushioning technologies, comfortable shoes for work—it’s all about them. I buy footwear from Skechers for active leisure and sports.
So, what about delivery and returns?
If you buy from Hush Puppies and your order is over $75, you don’t pay for shipping. For orders under that amount, you’ll pay between $8 and $25, depending on the delivery method you choose. I ordered a pair of loafers with the Standard shipping option, and the delivery costs me $7.95. The website states that they deliver quickly, within 4-7 days.
My package arrived in 10 days, but that includes weekends. You can return the product within 30 days, either in-store or by mail. Once, I had to return a pair of flats—actually exchange them—because the size didn’t fit. I had to wait a bit, but I wasn’t expecting quick results anyway. The new pair, one size larger, fit perfectly.
Skechers has roughly the same delivery times and costs. Free shipping is available only if you are a member of their Plus club, even if you order a small amount. Returns are possible within 45 days, and for Plus members, it’s 90 days. If you process the return correctly, you can also return the footwear at no cost, not paying a penny!
Since I’m not a member of their club, Standard Shipping cost me $8.50.
In short:
Hush Puppies – great style, high quality, durable items. The downsides are a limited selection and not the lowest prices.
Skechers has a huge selection, and the youth adore them for their style. Frequent promotions, reasonable prices. But the quality can vary, not all models are made well enough and of good quality.
