About Alo Moves
Alo Moves is a streaming workout service dedicated to helping users stay active at home and thus, healthy. Alo Moves gives its subscribers access to well-thought-out yoga classes, workouts, and even meditation, all led by experienced instructors.
Additionally, the company offers quality sports and yoga gear and apparel. In fact, that’s where the Alo Moves subscription service started. The company began its existence as a yoga clothing outlet in 2007.
These days, Alo Moves has over 2.8 million followers on Instagram, more than 328K followers on Facebook, and thousands of reviews. So, great news for all the hesitant users out there: Alo Moves is a legit and trustworthy service.
Who Is Behind Alo Moves?
As I’ve said before, the workout service is the “child” of Alo Yoga. Now, the CEO and co-founder of Alo Yoga is Danny Harris, but there are more people standing behind Alo Moves.
The team includes 20 videographers, developers, designers, producers, and marketers. Additionally, Alo Moves can boast of a large team of professional fitness and yoga instructors (more than 70!).
Is Alo Moves Worth It?
With such an impressive library of workouts, a team of professional instructors, and the convenience of the app, Alo Moves is certainly worth it. The service can help you stay fit, challenge yourself, become more flexible, or even calm down when needed. Such a variety of options really makes Alo Moves a great find for the price.
- a truly wide selection of classes, workout styles, and instructors, so there’s certainly something to your liking
- the app works smoothly and is super easy to use
- personalized class recommendations to help you reach your goals
- free trial to help users understand whether this subscription service is worth their money
- might seem too pricey to some
- the app may lack functionality for some users (for instance, the filter is rather basic, which may disappoint some)
Alo Moves Promotions and Discounts
At the time of writing this review, the company was offering a free 30-day trial with the promo code (dedicated to celebrating National Yoga Month).
Unfortunately, a free trial is the only ongoing promotion at this time. However, don’t hesitate to check the Alo Moves website regularly, as the company has cool offers from time to time.
Is Alo Moves Good for Beginners?
When writing this review, I was especially curious about their beginner programs. After all, the first step is the most important one, so it’s crucial for beginner-tailored exercise and yoga to be well-thought-out. Luckily, I’ve discovered that Alo Moves is great for beginners.
The app offers a wide variety of classes, each of which starts with the basics. Therefore, this would prevent users from feeling overwhelmed when they start their exercise journey.
Additionally, all beginner workouts focus on the technique, eliminating the chance of injury and helping users do each exercise correctly. Most of the classes don’t require any equipment either, so you can start practicing right away.
Naturally, the classes add a bit of a challenge gradually. This way, users can improve their skills and flexibility step by step.
How Much Does Alo Moves Cost Per Month?
The Alo moves subscription service costs $20 per month.
You can also save a bit more if you pay for the whole year beforehand. Additionally, the company often has great deals on its yearly membership (sometimes up to 50% off). Therefore, you can get a real bargain if you aren’t afraid to commit.
How Long Is Alo Moves Free Trial?
The company offers a 14-day free trial. During this period, you get full access to all classes and can try an unlimited number of them.
This may really come in handy for hesitant shoppers. If you aren’t sure which activity you would enjoy the most, you can use the free trial and test various classes to find your favorite ones.
A free trial is also great for users who aren’t sure whether the Alo Moves subscription is worth their money. In this case, they can explore the app and all of the services for 14 days and make a final decision easier.
Alo Moves Customer Reviews and Ratings
You can find the majority of Alo Moves reviews on the App Store. There are over 14.9K comments under the Alo Moves app, which has an average rating of 4.9 stars (very impressive, isn’t it?).
Now, most reviewers are absolutely happy with the variety of classes Alo Moves offers. There’s an ideal style, pace, and instructor for any user type.
Additionally, Alo Moves subscribers note that the app offers versatile workouts, which means you will always have a chance to improve your practice and challenge yourself when needed:
“I have been using it for about 6 weeks now and it has really helped me amp up my yoga practice. I have been an avid yogi for years but my practice was stale because the classes at my gym, while enjoyable, are too repetitive and do not push me in new directions. Getting more of a challenge and having many different types of yoga classes available has gotten me more excited about yoga again. I will definitely be keeping my subscription even when the gym reopens.” (source)
I was also happy to discover that the overwhelming majority of users are completely satisfied with the instructors and their level of professionalism :
“The instructors and videos are some of the best yoga practices I’ve ever done, some even better than years of live classes.”
However, there are some complaints as well. Some users note that the app requires certain improvements, such as a more advanced filter, for example. However, the functionality of the app is pretty good, so such complaints would depend strictly on users’ personal preferences (which aren’t always objective, as we all know).
Alo Moves Membership
By signing up to Alo Moves, you can easily bring the gym (or yoga studio) experience to your home and thus, work out in comfort.
The membership costs $20 a month. You can also get a yearly subscription for $199 and save 17%.
The Alo Moves membership offers thousands of classes in over 20 styles. Additionally, the app will share daily wellness recommendations to help you reach your fitness goals faster. And last but not least, Alo Moves releases new videos weekly, which means you will never get bored with your classes.
Alo Moves Yoga
The yoga section on Alo Moves includes classes for all experience levels, from first-time users to advanced yogis.
The app offers more than 2.5K classes with over 70 instructors. Needless to say, there are plenty of options to choose from, and each of them has a chance of becoming your favorite.
Speaking of the classes, I especially like the sound background. It creates a calm, relaxing atmosphere without being distracting.
Another cool thing about Alo Moves Yoga is that you can practice with friends in real-time, which can be rather fun for some users. Additionally, you can track your progress together. Therefore, you will have more chances to remain motivated and keep practicing.
Alo Moves Fitness
The on-demand classes in the Fitness category by Alo Moves include Pilates, barre, bodyweight exercises, HIIT, and many more.
It gets better: you will get workout recommendations to help you reach your fitness goals. Therefore, Alo Moves Fitness would be like a personal trainer in your smartphone.
There are more than 2.5K workout classes suited for all levels. Therefore, with Alo Moves, it’s extremely easy to remain active and healthy while enjoying yourself. You see, you can choose any class according to your current mood or schedule, which means you don’t have to settle for a class you don’t like.
Asana Rebel vs Alo Moves
Now, both Asana Rebel and Alo Moves offer an impressive selection of classes tailored to work for different experience levels.
However, what I didn’t like about Asana Rebel is that most of its workouts aim to achieve weight loss. For me (and I’m sure many of you would agree), weight loss isn’t always a priority, so I would prefer to have more options concerning the goals of my workouts.
Now, one of the coolest things about Asana Rebel is the handy reminders. The app can notify you when it’s time for the next workout, meditation, or even a glass of water. With Alo Moves, I did not notice a feature like that.
That being said, Alo Moves had more types of classes I’ve never tried, which means this app could be more helpful in making progress during my fitness journey.
At the same time, the Asana Rebel subscription is slightly cheaper. Therefore, if you want a more budget-friendly option, you might want to try Asana Rebel. But if you are looking for a more versatile (I would even say rich) experience, you can test Alo Moves.
