Tommy Hilfiger vs Calvin Klein Underwear: Which is Better?

Tommy Hilfiger vs Calvin Klein

Two months ago, I decided to independently assess the quality of products from two leading underwear brands, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.

These brands need no introduction, as they are well-known, but not everyone is aware of the quality of their underwear.

So, I spent two months wearing boxer briefs from Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger and can now share my opinion on their price, quality, and how they hold up after washing.

Quality

Let’s start with Calvin Klein. Their underwear is made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex. The label on Tommy Hilfiger’s underwear states that theirs is made from 100% cotton, specifically soft premium-class cotton. In reality, it’s cotton jersey.

You might conclude that Tommy Hilfiger’s underwear is of higher quality than Calvin Klein’s, but I don’t think so. Honestly, I didn’t notice a significant difference, and for me, the 5% difference in cotton composition doesn’t matter.

From my own experience, I believe that once you reach 95% cotton compared to 100% cotton, you’re essentially looking at the same level of quality, or at least very similar.

What I prefer about Tommy Hilfiger is their design. Their underwear is slightly longer than Calvin Klein’s and feels great on the body. I particularly like how snugly they fit around the legs.

Color doesn’t matter to me, except for white. My wife and I don’t like white underwear, although white underwear with a black band is Calvin Klein’s signature look. But that shouldn’t be a problem, as they offer a wide range of colors.

Price

I ordered a pack from Tommy Hilfiger’s official website. The specific product was the COTTON CLASSICS BOXER BRIEF 3-PACK, which I bought only in black. You already know why. The price was $25, down from a listed price of $42.5. However, I think that was a marketing ploy. I also saw a $25 price on Amazon, but I preferred to buy from the official site to ensure authenticity.

On Calvin Klein’s website, I bought two models of Boxer Briefs for $19.2 and $30. Despite the price difference of just over $10 between the two models, I didn’t feel a significant difference in how they felt to wear.

As you can see, the prices of Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein are roughly the same, and I don’t think it’s worth discussing the price difference. Neither brand has an advantage, as the quality is nearly identical.

Washing

Over two months, I washed each pair 10 times and didn’t notice any decrease in quality for either Tommy Hilfiger or Calvin Klein underwear. I think they could easily withstand another 20-30 washes. The quality of these brands deserves recognition.

Verdict on comparing men’s underwear from Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger:

In conclusion, I can confidently say that Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger underwear are equal in terms of quality and price. In the end, I preferred Tommy Hilfiger, but only for subjective reasons. I just like that Tommy Hilfiger’s underwear is slightly longer.

The price range is nearly identical. I’m sure these brands keep an eye on each other to prevent any from gaining a price advantage in the men’s underwear market.

Also, all the underwear looks good after numerous washes, so you shouldn’t worry about a decrease in quality.
